Ken Muir has performed for twenty-five years as a piano soloist and bandleader in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York and Europe. He is also a sought after accompanist and arranger.
Ken played piano and provided critically acclaimed arrangements for three of vocalist Paula West’s CD’s.  One of these, Come What May, was the winner of the “Outstanding Jazz Album of the Year” category of the 2002 California Music Awards.
He has also played and provided arrangements for performances and recordings with Judy Butterfield, Spider Saloff, Sony Holland, Vicki Burns and others.
Ken’s extensive experience as a bandleader includes ten years leading a trio, quartet and quintet at San Francisco’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Ken is currently writing music and lyrics for a jazz-inspired musical.
Ken is a graduate of Harvard College, and studied privately with Dick Hindman. He is grateful to pianists Bill Evans, Dave McKenna and Ahmad Jamal for their influence and inspiration.
